The Technology Tailor's Hall of Fame

I've been writing the Chicago Tribune "My Tech" column since 2002 and my Frontier Airline's column has run for a couple of years as well. These are my favorite pieces.

I will update and expand this page regularly (I have new favorites all the time!), so please check in periodicially.

In no particular order, The Technology Tailor's Hall of Fame:
  • Global Outsourcing for the Little Guy (May 29, 2006): Small businesses can take advantage of outsourcing, and its accompanying savings, just as effectively as big companies. This is the story of how a company in India re-designed my Web site (this Web site!), and how you can take advantage of outsourcing as well.

  • How 102-year-old learned to use a PC (February 21, 2004): Esther Hearne didn't learn to a use a PC until she more than a century old. Read her inspirational and motivational story here. What do you think you can't do?

  • Tools Give Cubs big-league help (May 17, 2003): The technology used by Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry. A fascinating look (to me anyway!) at how baseball business is done.

  • Mark Cuban's Sidekick (November 6, 2004): What's the one device Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is never without? And what other Web sites and tools does he use regularly? This e-mail conversation takes a look.

  • Remember HBO's Project Greenlight? (January 4, 2003): One of the earliest "My Tech" columns profiled Pete Biagi, the camera man who deliberately shook his video camera to sabotage a scene in HBO's first Project Greenlight documentary series. Read about Pete's digital video technology here too.

  • The prostate cancer blog (March 29, 2003): Kim Garretson dealt with prostate cancer. He beat it. Then he put together a unique blog to educate men, and their partners, about the importance of the PSA test which is used to diagnose prostate cancer.
